Safety Information

Are Teething Necklaces safe?

Although teething necklaces do not require formal safety and CE testing we design our necklaces to be as safe as possible for mama to wear and baby to enjoy.

All of our silicone jewellery and accessories are handmade by me in the UK with the prime focus to make safe and attractive jewellery by always:

  • Using snap away safety clasps
  • Securing the beads at each end with a knot as well as at the clasp. Cords are made from colour-fast waxed cotton.
  • Using natural wood beads free of varnishes or finishes.
  • All our silicone meets the European safety standard EN71-3.
  • Every necklace is handmade by me in North East London and double checked before posting.
  •  Keeping up to date with the latest safety regulations and ensuring our components come from manufacturers who also comply with the highest safety standards.
  • Every product is given a sterile wipe before it's packaged, but we recommend sterilising before every use.
Before using any of our teething products please carefully read the safety card we provide with your purchase. The safety of our products is one of our top priorities and something that we take extremely seriously and we request all of our customers follow the guidelines listed below.
Teething necklaces should always be worn by an adult with supervision of baby and never around a babies neck.

Mustard & Mint silicone necklaces are designed to be worn by AN ADULT (18+) only. Adult supervision is required; never leave jewellery with baby unattended. Wash before first use with warm soapy water and allow to dry naturally laying flat.
Never submerge wooden beads in water, instead spot clean with a cloth or wipe.

Dummy Clips & Teething Toys

When shopping for handmade teething rings, dummy clips and pram garlands please remember that these DO require passing safety testing and for rings and garlands these need to be CE tested, so always look out for this information whether shopping online or at craft fairs.

Our Dummy Clips and Rattle Rings have been tested and meet the European safety standard EN71-3. Tested by a UKAS approved accredited independent test house for compliance with BS EN 71. Part 1, 2 and 3.

Certifications can be provided upon request.
